about me

Chelsea is a wigmaker on the East Coast/ New York City area serving the needs of both the entertainment industry as well as the everyday needs of personal clients.
She originally learned the craft of wig making at The University of North Carolina School of the Arts, one of the only programs in the country, where she learned to create looks specifically for Theater, Opera, Ballet and Film.
From there Chelsea had the great fortune of apprenticing and working for the legendary Bob Kelly at his famed 46th Street Studio. Here she really got the chance to hone her wig making skills learning from the talented craftsman that loyally worked at the studio for generations as well as from Bob himself. Through the studio, Chelsea worked on a broad range of projects including Broadway musicals, art installations and television shows including the ongoing seasons of Saturday Night Live. She also encountered nearly every top designer and stylist that utilized Bob’s studio and in many cases would build and create there.
After Bob Kelly’s death and the studio’s closure, Chelsea continued her wig making on a freelance basis working with designers and also personal clients. She simultaneously worked as a wig stylist on Broadway contributing to over a dozen productions. Taking the opportunity to learn naturalistic, period and fantasy hair styling with each show from the masterful Broadway stylists she was lucky enough to work with.
